"Japan Accordion Association" was officially recognized as "NPO Corporation Japan Accordion Association" by the Tokyo Legal Affairs Bureau on June 3, 2004. Henceforth we will go by name of NPO Corporation Japan Accordion Association. We express our deepest gratitude for your support and cooperation.

JAA was originally established in November, 1994 and last fall was the 10th anniversary. On this occasion we decided to change our organization JAA to a NPO corporation. It was approved by the 9th Extraordinary General Meeting about Changing on January 25, 2004. We applied to the Government Office on February 5 and were certified as an NPO corporation after a two-month inspection.

The aim of NPO Corporation Japan Accordion Association is " to contribute to making our towns more cultural and more peaceful through the activities related to artistic culture, juvenile education, adult education, social welfare, music therapy, regional development or international cultural exchange while promoting the cooperation of the music industry, corporations, the national government, local governments, etc. as well as having professional accordionists and amateurs corporate to popularize accordion music and improve it in quality." We will develop our business more actively to achieve the aim from now on. As the first step of cultural exchange between Japan and China, we visited China last summer to research and take part in "10th Beijing International Accordion Art Festival ( Competition )" as judges.

Now we are planning various programs for "Accordion Summer Festa 2005" in August, 2005, the main project of which is "4th JAA International Accordion Competition".
